E34 525iSE 67K miles




A very late, low mileage facelift example.

One of the last having been built in October 1995 (Production ceases December 1995) and not registered until May 1996!

Calypso Red Metallic with light grey cloth interior.

2.5L 6 Cylinder Multivalve 192 bhp M50 Engine
with 5-Speed Sports Switchable Automatic Gearbox

    FSH - all BMW Maindealer except an Oil Service by Evans Hallshaw Peugeot approx 500 miles ago and now a Full Inspection II by an Independent BMW Specialist (see below).

    *All MOTs are present apart from two which the previous owner lost.

    Fortunately, however, these two MOTs had been issued once computerised MOT recording had already started and VOSA have been able to provide the full MOT history since computerisation began - which even documents any previous reasons for failures and even Advisory Notices!

    Through this I've also been able to confirm the mileage at the time of MOT testing - please see photographs of VOSA documentation.

    It will be noted that, even though the car had only just been serviced at Evans Halshaw shortly before I acquired the car I elected to subsmit the car to a FULL Inspection II level service, plus had other items renewed.

    At the final above Inspection II all of the following were replaced:

    Oil, Oil filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Spark plugs, Coolant etc.

    Additionally, the Brake fluid was replaced and a new Air-Conditioning Micro-filter was replaced (the job everyone hates doing on E34s and therefore so often omitted!)

    New front brake discs and pads were fitted.

    Thereafter, I have just had the Air-Conditioning serviced and re-gassed.


    WHEELS / TYRES

    The car will come with TWO FULL SETS OF WHEELS:

    1) 5 original E34 Metric wheels with the correct Dunlop metric tyres. These have plenty of tread remaining and are very expensive tyres to replace. I have repainted these wheels and put new badges on.

    They would be appropriate on the car for shows etc. to preserve originality. The spare wheel and tyre are completely new and unused.

    2) A set of four non-metric 16" wheels with budget but BRAND new looking tyres with a full 8mm of tread. The wheels also look to be brand new and were put on by the previous owner as his existing metric tyres had worn out and this I'm sure proved to be a cheaper solution.

    Unfortunately, even though this wheel/tyre combination is virtually brand new (AND the car actually drives very well on them) the appearance is not to my taste.

    However, if preferred, I do have a set of genuine 16" BMW non-metric cross-spoke alloy wheels arriving soon to which the new tyres can be fitted.


    ICE

    The car is fitted with a new Kenwood Single CD head unit (by the previous owner) and this is a vast improvement over the standard BMW Radio/Cassette and sounds superb.


    BODY / PAINTWORK / INTERIOR

    Super, super Clean! It is even better than my previous E34 525i!

    This time I have actually gone as far as to have the front of the car resprayed (nose, front wings and bonnet) to remove ALL stone-chips!

    There are no nasty car-parks dinks, dents or scratches.

    The paintwork has been clayed, de-swirled and BMW "Hard Wax" Applied - Yes! This is the stuff that maindealers apparently charge you £300 to apply!

    Perfect Interior (for completeness one tiny hole in the rear seat cushion - see photo- not noticeable unless the door is open)

    Never Smoked In

    All Tools, Jack, Wheel-Brace, Glovebox Torch, First Aid Box (still cellophane sealed) and leather document holder are all present.

    ALL 4 keys are present.

    The carpets have always been protected by overmats. All brand new mat fixings.

    Additionally, I have added new upgraded BMW interior lights front and rear which incorporate separate reading lamps in each unit.


    EXTRAS

    Included is a Bosal Detachable Towbar (The Rolls Royce of Towbars!)

    I had intended to sell this with the previous E34 525i that I had. However, the new owners did not want it and so I gave them a discount and kept the tow-bar. Just as well - as this car although it would appear never fitted with a tow-bar was actually supplied from the factory with the aperture and and cover for a detachable tow-bar already in-situ!

    A Tracker device (subscription required).

    Genuine BMW Mudflaps of the correct type for this later face-lifted model with the deep side-skirts.

    SUMMARY


    This is an exceptional car and one of the last in the line of production of what many argue to be the best built of all the BMW 5-Series variants.

    It drives superbly and everything works.

    It is in super condition and would take very little effort to make it a full concours contender should you wish.

    Please do not confuse this car with the norm of tired and haggered-looking E34s being sold widely.

    This car would be appropriate for someone looking specifically for a truly top-notch E34 to continue to cherish. It is actually nicer, is even later (!) and has less miles on the clock than my last one! It will not be easy to find a better one for sale.

    It is Taxed, Mot'd, Fully Serviced and ready to enjoy.
